WoW Forever Beta has concluded. So what should you know, and what should you do before the official launch on November 4 to be ready for the experience ahead?

There is one more date to mark first. Players who pre-purchase the Skyborne Heroic Pack, the Skyborne Epic Pack or the limited-time Warcraft Forever Collection get access to Early Name Reservation, which runs from October 27 through November 3.

WoW Forever, still called WoW Classic Plus by much of the community, has no realm list. Each ruleset acts as one large shared pool of players, so popular names disappear quickly. Reserving yours in the first hours of the window is the simplest way to avoid a name padded with extra numbers or symbols.

Instead of picking a realm, players now choose a ruleset when they create a character: Normal, PvP, Roleplaying or, as announced on October 22, Roleplay-PvP. Hardcore is planned for some time after launch. Players can also set a Preferred Online Language under Game Menu, Options, then Languages and Social. The setting is account-wide and has a 24-hour cooldown, so it is worth choosing carefully.

Each ruleset functions as its own ecosystem for grouping, dungeons, raids and community. Cross-ruleset grouping is not supported, and Horde and Alliance still cannot group together. Battlegrounds can include players from other rulesets, with Hardcore kept separate. Moving between rulesets requires creating a new character, while collections and Legacy Points are shared across the account. Hardcore is handled differently: progress earned there can carry out to other rulesets, but nothing flows back in. A Hardcore character that dies can also transfer to another ruleset, including PvP. On the PvP ruleset, a player can only create characters for one faction. Once you roll an Alliance character there, a Horde character is off the table, and the reverse is also true. Normal, Roleplaying and Hardcore allow both factions.

The Roleplay-PvP addition came as a surprise; it will be available when Early Name Reservation begins on October 27. The PvP ruleset is expected to be the most crowded. I plan to start my first character on Normal and keep a Roleplay-PvP alt in reserve, mostly because the shared nature of each ruleset makes me want to see how both economies behave in the first weeks.

That economic side deserves some thought before launch. A single large pool of players means a busy Auction House, and the first week of any Classic-style release tends to push prices on materials, bags, consumables and profession supplies far above normal. Early levels also bring steady costs: training, mounts and gear upgrades all compete for the same small pile of WoW Forever Gold.

Many players choose to buy WoW Forever Gold so that those costs do not slow them down. Gold farming takes hours, and anyone with a job or limited evenings would rather spend that time questing and running dungeons. A well-planned gold budget helps with practical decisions throughout progression:

1. Smoother character progression.
Leveling involves equipment upgrades, training expenses and other recurring costs. Players who plan their resources early avoid unnecessary interruptions.

2. Better preparation for group content.
Dungeons and raids often require consumables, repairs and suitable equipment. Having enough gold on hand makes it easier to prepare for scheduled group activities instead of postponing them to earn more currency.

3. More flexibility with professions
Gathering and crafting can be rewarding, but they also take time and materials. Gold gives players room to decide which resources to collect themselves and which to get through the in-game economy. Because switching rulesets means starting a new character, it is also a good reason to buy WoW Forever Gold in an amount that covers an alt as well as a main.

Preparation involves more than accumulating gold. Players should first decide which ruleset matches their preferred experience and coordinate with friends before creating characters. Because grouping is limited to the same ruleset, making this decision early prevents avoidable complications. With the launch approaching, choosing a ruleset, coordinating with friends and planning your gold needs can make the first days in this evolving version of Azeroth far more enjoyable.
